Here are 6 secrets to getting your home sold quickly and easily and for the most money.

1. Attractive entrance and kerb appeal will do the trick to get people through the door of your home. If your house looks inviting, people will be charmed and want to see more. Make sure the front door area is freshly painted, the lamp and bulbs are working and look presentable. Put out a welcome mat and in the general entrance hall area, add flower baskets or pots to dress the front door.

2. Homes that are in need of repair will get less money and be subject to low ball offers - if your home looks chic and in good repair, you will get a bigger price for your home and your home will sell quickly. Take a walk around and make sure curtains are hooked properly, door handles are new and shiny, light fittings secured and any broken or damaged items repaired and looking good.

3. Terrible odors are a good reason for a buyer to offer you less money for your home. If a buyer loves the look of a home and walks in to pungent smells of cigarette smoke or pet odors, that is very off putting and he walks away remembering the smell of the home before he remembers the accommodation

4. Light and bright homes sell more easily and for more money. People are less attracted to dark homes. Do your best to present the house with as much light as you possibly can. Sometimes it means  that you may need to give your home a coat of paint, change the bedding to light colors and put throws over dark furniture. Those are quick fixes that will get you more money.


5. An uncluttered and clean home will sell more quickly and for more money than one that is untidy, dirty and poorly presented. Always present your home perfectly. Make sure that the kitchen counters are clear and that the dishes are packed away. Bathrooms need to smell fresh, 'show' towels and bath mats to present perfectly. Clothing behind closed doors and toys packed away and uncluttered.

6. Price your home correctly. If its priced correctly more people will look at your home and in todays market, more often than not you can get more for your home than the asking price.
